One of the best ways to tell the world that your crowdfunding campaign has launched is through a press release. Press releases will not only allow fresh eyes to learn about your company or campaign but will also serve as an exciting piece of news to share and post on your social media channels!

In order to support our issuers we have an active account with GlobeNewswire to submit press releases through their distribution service on your behalf. Below we will dive into the specifics of submitting press releases through GlobeNewswire and what options are available to enhance the visual appeal and engagement levels of your press release.

Fees: The charge for Globe Newswire’s standard press release package to all Canadian major cities is $750 CAD which includes the distribution of a text-only press release accompanied by a logo image.

‍

Can I include Images or Videos in my press release? 📷

Images and videos can absolutely be included in your press release and can be a great way to excite the reader and increase audience engagement. Through GlobeNewswire there are additional charges associated with submitting images and video’s as follows:

  • Images: $140 CAD per picture
  • Video: $170 CAD per video

Once you have decided on whether you would like to include images, please add the associated links (for videos) or insert images into your press release document, the above charges will be applied depending on the amount of images/videos.

‍

Now that I have prepared my press release, what should I do? 🤔

Once your press release is ready to go please share an editable version with your campaign advisor who will provide some marketing and communications feedback to ensure that the release is best positioned to drive success for your campaign. Once they have delivered your feedback and you have implemented recommendations, FrontFundr's compliance team will review the press release to ensure all communications are aligned with securities regulations and approve it for submission.

‍

Select your Trades ✅

Once the press release is ready your campaign advisor will reach out to you with some proposed Trades to select. These will be the types of news sources and publications that your release will be distributed too. Here are a few examples of the most common trades that are selected for crowdfunding campaigns:

  • Canada-Business & Finance
  • Canada-Marketing/Sales
  • Canada-Technology
  • Canada-Management

Depending on your company’s industry, there will be more specific trades suggested by your campaign advisor ahead of distribution.

‍

Ready for Submission! 📄

Once your press release has been approved by the FrontFundr compliance team, image/video inclusions are included and you have confirmed your trade selections, your campaign advisor will submit the press release to Globe Newswire for their editorial team to review and propose any small changes to formatting or grammar before distribution.

‍

Approving the Proof 👍🏻

Shortly after submission, your campaign advisor will send you a proof of the press release in its final edited form for your approval. Once approved the last step in the process is to choose a release time. It is recommended that press releases be scheduled early in the morning between Monday-Thursday for optimal chance of pickup from news sources.

‍

Reaching out to the Media 📧

Once your press release is submitted we recommend reaching out to any media contacts that you, your team or your advisors may have to direct media sources attention towards your release.

‍

Note: There is no guarantee that press releases will be picked up by any particular news source. Timing and the inclusion of visual assets will likely make the release more appealing and increase likelihood of more attractive news sources distributing the release.
