Contests and giveaways can be a great way to get investors to complete their investment in a timely manner but incentivizing them with some great products.
The contest can be run on Facebook or Instagram and promoted as a campaign update on the FrontFundr platform. Contests and giveaways on Instagram can actually help boost your overall engagement and get your content noticed by the algorithm.

- Will there be a unique hashtag
- How will you notify the winner
- Select a prize: Will there be one prize? A few prizes? Will it be your product or an affiliate’s product?
- Design your content assets: What will the graphics look like to promote your contest? What will the copy be the different forms of social, newsletter, and campaign update?
- Identify who will manage the contest: Allocating one member of the team can reduce confusion when it comes to managing.
- Ensure the winner receives their prize: Determine a way to double check participants have completed the process to entry and draw a winner.

joni did a fantastic giveaway to incentivize individuals to engage with their social media. Not only did they gain a ton of engagement, but they also received feedback on how their community had actually heard about the company. If they were potential investors, joni could gauge their marketing spend on where new followers might have come from. The bonus entry allowed individuals to share the contest on their stories and amplify joni’s campaign.
FrontFundr 🏆
For a past raise of ours, we created an incentivized competition that encouraged investors to complete their investments. If they completed their investment, they were entered into a draw to receive a prize in the form of a product of one of our past issuers. This was a great way to promote some of the issuers who have seen great success on the platform as well as encourage investors to complete their investment.
Hardbacon ⏰
Hardbacon ran a Facebook contest that encouraged followers to complete their investment to receive a perk from their company. Any investors who did complete their investment by the deadline, could select one of three available prizes. Hardbacon did a great job of advertising their contest through Facebook advertisements as well as utilizing the updates function on their FrontFundr campaign page.
Rules to keep in mind 🚨
Follow the law of your region and make the contest only available to Canadians (other countries cannot invest)
- Create official rules that are easy to understand so that expectations are being set properly
- Make it clear that Instagram and/or Facebook are not involved in the contest
- Do not encourage inaccurate tagging (tagging friends in comments is ok)
